Hatter's Cottage
is an 18th century detached stone cottage in a secluded location near the
centre of the southern
Lake District
. It is situated 150 metres from public roads, on a small farm near a
hilltop between Coniston and Windermere lakes. The picturesque
village
of
Hawkshead
, 1 mile away, has a small supermarket, a post office and several pubs
serving meals.
One can walk or cycle in all directions from the cottage door on
footpaths, quiet lanes and forest tracks. Mountain walking, boating, pony
trekking and rock climbing are available nearby. The central location
makes the cottage a good base for touring the
Lake District
by car.
Hatter's Cottage is beside a small stream, surrounded by gardens, fields,
orchard and woodland, with mountain views. It has been fully renovated and
is heated throughout.

with beams, stone hearth and colour TV. Kitchen with refrigerator,
double-oven cooker & microwave. Dining room with sofa-bed; view of
stream, fields and woodland.
First floor:
Two bedrooms with mountain views, one with 5-foot double bed and one with
