1st March 2008: This is the date we have set  for the re-opening following refurbishment. We closed early in January and we have been busy refurbishing the toilet areas; our kitchen and the staff leisure areas Sauna, spa tub, gym etc. Our new and friendly team are champing at the bit to spoil our visitors.

The closure was somewhat forced by typical uncaring local government. Cumbria County Council decided 'without consultation' Simply to shut the A592 for two months without a care in the world for the impact on local business. Many are saying the money (£1/3 should have been spent where it was needed most. Have you tried speaking to arrogant Local government employees? I have and was insulted for my troubles!!! Little wonder the ballot boxes are under used.
